Today is Ash Wednesday and is the start of the Lenten season for Christians. This is a time for spiritual reflection, renewal and rebirth before Easter. Spring is a wonderful opportunity for anyone to reflect on who they are or want to become. Spring is a time for rebirth and renewal like we see in nature. Trees are starting to bud, grass and flowers are starting to regrow. I’ve attached some photos below that I was inspired to capture. Nature is so breathtaking, it’s important to take the time to step away from the chaos of the day and enjoy the moment surrounded by nature and its beauty. As Christians, we focus these next 40 days leading up to Easter on prayer, penance and charity. prayer is something I do every day to thank God for all of my blessings and to guide me through every life experience. Prayer or meditation is a wonderful way to connect to God, Source or the Universe depending on your beliefs. Penance is something we sacrifice to help us build self-discipline against bigger temptations and bring us closer to God. Our Pastor recently stated that charity can take on many forms and does not necessarily mean financial donations. Charity can be as simple as how we treat one another. As we enter into this season of renewal, ask yourself a few questions. Can you be nicer to people who may annoy you? Can you reach out to someone who may need a friend? Can you have more patience with negative people? The decision is yours.
